Material art at the Folk Festival can be in the form of loose canvas, other fabrics, paper, or any light and flexible material. This is because of the transformation aspect of the festival; it must be able to be tucked away for daytime use of the space. If you are not used to painting on loose canvas, we would be more than happy to demonstrate it for you, share tips and tricks, and share our canvas supply.
An exception is if you would like to bring items for display and take them home at the end of the night. You can do this as many times as you want, and then there are no constraints on weight or material.
You are welcome to share individual works, series, or even sketches. It can be very fun to see how an idea comes together in the artist’s mind.
